Neoclassicism

A movement that began around the second half of the 18th century that saw a revived interest in Greco-Roman culture. Notably, this movement coincided with the Age of Enlightenment which was both a philosophical and intellectual movement in Europe that emphasized reason, science, and individualism. Neo-Classical movements existed in several phases focusing on different aspects of Greco-Roman culture such as Empire style, which had its focus in classic revival in architecture, furniture, and other decorative arts in the early 19th century.
