Originated in the early 1900s as a revolutionary avant-garde movement in painting and sculpture, and has since inspired movements in literature, architecture, and music. Headed by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, a visual language was developed that challenged conventional representations of composition in art. Cubism analyzes the form, rearranges it, and reassembles it in the abstract in order to provide a greater context and perspective of a particular scene. Additionally, it had an incredible impact on other artistic movements, inspiring aspects of Futurism, Dadaism, Constructivism, Suprematism, etc.
