Keith Haring Subway Drawings at Moco Museum London
Private Collection on Loan
March-June, 2026
At Trimper Gallery, we are incredibly excited and proud that works from our private collection are being exhibited at Moco Museum London as part of Voice of the Streets: Keith Haring’s Subway Drawings. It’s an honor to see these pieces shared with an international audience in such a dynamic and immersive setting.
The exhibition highlights Keith Haring’s early subway drawings from 1980–1985, which he famously created on unused advertising panels throughout New York City. As noted in the article, Haring described the subway as a “laboratory” where he could experiment freely and reach a broad audience. His works were intentionally temporary—drawn quickly in chalk and often erased—yet they carried powerful meaning and immediacy.
Featuring around 30 works, the exhibition recreates the atmosphere of a 1980s NYC subway, allowing visitors to experience the environment where these drawings first appeared. Using simple, recognizable imagery, Haring aimed to communicate with everyone, reinforcing his belief that “art is for everybody.” This exhibition not only captures the spontaneity and energy of his practice but also highlights the lasting cultural impact of his work.”

We are excited to let clients, collaborators, friends, and, most of all, Keith Haring fans know that we are proud to have access to a truly exceptional selection of subway drawings from Trimper Gallery’s private collection, as well as additional subway drawings from clients’ collections that we manage.
It all started in 2023, when our Founder, Alex Trimper, had his personal inventory displayed at the Hampton Art Fair and the Brattleboro Museum. Ever since, they haven’t stayed in one place for too long.
We’re also finalizing exhibitions with Wayne State University (April–July 2026) and a three-country program with MOCO Museum (Amsterdam, London, Barcelona; September 2026–January 2027), which will include an official exhibition catalog of the entire Trimper Gallery collection.
“Witness the birth of Keith Haring’s signature cartoony style in original chalk drawings that he graffitied on advertising spaces in New York’s subways in the early 1980s.”
Forty years after their creation in New York City subway stations, Keith Haring’s artwork from the Trimper Collection made its first public appearance again at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, a repurposed train station.
Stay tuned for updates on our international schedule.
