As this golden girl stood gracefully before my lens, her coat shining like the morning sun on sand, we all began to understand how she got her name. Aloha is a Hawaiian word rich with cultural and spiritual meaning. Far more than just a greeting, it expresses an essence of being—one of love, compassion, and mutual respect. With 35 years of life under her saddle, this gentle girl welcomed us into her space with the same warmth, kindness, and affection as her namesake. I loved the beautiful dappled gray across her face, a reminder of the full life she has lived and all of the wisdom that came with it.
