Despite his sweet disposition, Oscuro photographed like the dark side of the moon. An eerie all-black breed with amber eyes, his name means “dark” in Spanish. I wanted to photograph Oscuro against an all-black background to emphasize the way the light hits his various features—from each individual strand of hair to the reflective curvature of his horns to the shining silver edges of his ear.
