"Verso engraved signature and date K. Haring 89, numbered A.P. 3/6 and inscribed Editions Schellmann Munich New York In addition to the regular edition of 30 copies, only a very small number of prints were produced for the artist and the printer. The densely populated pictorial field, filled with a multitude of figures and ornaments of varying scale, lends the composition a strong sense of vitality and dynamic movement. At the same time, the strict juxtaposition of forms—rarely overlapping—and the reduction to two colors convey a pronounced sense of order and structure. At the apex of the pyramid, two human figures appear to prostrate themselves—perhaps in an act of worship—before an enigmatic figure that may be interpreted as a creator or deity. In this way, Haring reflects on the artistic act of creation as a parallel to the divine act of creation. The unusual pyramidal format is not incidental, alluding to the triangular Eye of God as a symbol of higher order and knowledge.
