Grand Lobby, Warner Theatre
Medium: Archival Pigment Platine Print
Year: 2022
As one of the last opulent picture-palaces built before the Great Depression in 1931, the LA Theatre was erected in less than six months in a French Baroque style. The detailed silk curtain resembling a complex pastoral scene with Louis XIVth, his family, and soldiers from his army, represents the opulent decorative expression picture-palace architect-designers sought for their audiences.
