Like mother like daughter. Marigold stayed quite close to her mom, Hazel, throughout their session. In my years of photographing animals in the studio, I have come to understand the ultimate importance of flexibility on set. You never know what you’re going to get so the ability to honor each animal’s unique needs is paramount. In the end, this unexpected portrait of mother and daughter quickly became one of my favorites.
