Choose Love is a reactive commentary towards humanity’s hostile occurrences, coincidentally, Andrea painted this just before the New Zealand massacre, which is an now all too common event worldwide. The colors alone encourage viewers to experience passion, joy, pain, and pleasure. The concentric hearts imbedded in the repetitive circular patterns offer a subliminal reminder to reach deeper into matters of the heart. Andrea uses a marbling of reds, pinks, and whites in a soothing circular pattern to evoke a feeling of warmth and comfort, establishing a sentiment of love. As with all of Andrea’s encaustic works, the torching and layering of molten wax with oil are reflective of nature’s elements taking form.
